This
is the Shoulder Title of the "Parachute Regiment". Worn
on both shoulders of the battledress blouse.
Jump
Wings, worn on right sleeve of battledress blouse and Denison smock.
Pegasus
patch showing the mythological Bellerophon riding the winged horse
Pegasus. Was worn on both sleeves of the battledress.
Airborne
strip worn on both sleeves of the battledress. Was to be removed
in late 1944, but some still were seen wearing them in early 1945.

How all the above patches would look
on the right sleeve of the battledress. Also notice the
"kelly green" slip-ons that identified the 7th
Battalion from other units. Each Battalion of the
Parachute Regiment in the 6th Airborne Division had it's own
specific color. The green lanyard looped around the right
shoulder was also a distinct item worn by the 7th Para Bn on
their walking out dress.
The 7th Battalion wore the lanyards on the right shoulder
to not be confused with the 1st Battalion who also wore the same
green lanyard, but on the left shoulder like the rest of the
Regiment.

The
10th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry became the 7th Battalion and
because of their Light Infantry background they wore a "hunter
green" colored backing behind the cap badge on the
beret.
